Summer Sips: Refreshing Lemonades Infused with Minnesota Herbs

If you thought lemonade couldn't get any better, think again! We're giving this classic summer drink a Minnesota twist with our delightful herb-infused lemonades. Perfect for those scorching days when you need something cool and refreshing to sip on.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 5-6 lemons)
  • 1/2 cup honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 5 cups cold water
  • Handful of fresh Minnesota herbs (basil, mint, rosemary, or lavender)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and herb sprigs for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the honey (or sugar) and one cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the honey or sugar is completely dissolved. Let it cool to room temperature.
  2. While the syrup is cooling, muddle a handful of your chosen Minnesota herbs in a pitcher. This will release the essential oils and flavors.
  3. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice to the pitcher along with the cooled syrup.
  4. Pour in the remaining 4 cups of cold water. Stir well to combine.
  5. Fill glasses with ice cubes, then pour the herb-infused lemonade over the ice.
  6. Garnish with lemon slices and additional herb sprigs for that perfect summer presentation.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve this lemonade on a sunny patio with some homemade snacks or enjoy it as a refreshing treat after a day of exploring Minnesota's great outdoors. You can even make it a bit fancy by using sparkling water instead of regular cold water. Cheers to a cool and refreshing summer!
